The aim of The Literary Encyclopedia and Literary Dictionary is to provide profiles of the lives and works of literary authors whose works are valued in the English language, and other prominent figures such as philosophers and musicians whose lives and works are of interest to the literary reader. The site is written and owned by a global network of scholars and researchers (currently some 670 and rising steadily), all specialists who really know and indeed love their material.
