Adam Art Gallery, Victoria University
This is a purpose-built university gallery located at Victoria University of Wellington. The Adam Art Gallery Te Pataka Toi offers a broad programme of exhibitions and events that foster national and international visual art and culture. Exhibitions represent the visual arts, craft, architecture, design and music and involve areas beyond the humanities. The Victoria University of Wellington Art Collection comprises over 240 works by New Zealand artists and is on permanent display throughout the University campus.

Bowen Galleries
Bowen Galleries is just off Cuba St and is part of the Cuba Art Quarter. Late night open is the first Thursday of every month except Jan and Feb.

City Gallery Wellington.
Established in 1980, City Gallery Wellington was the first significant non-collecting exhibition based public gallery in New Zealand.

Dowse Art Museum, Hutt Valley.
Just a 15 minute drive from downtown Wellington, The Dowse is a nationally significant contemporary art museum as well as the public art gallery for Lower Hutt city. Opened in 1971, The Dowse forged a reputation for presenting quality exhibitions and events with a special focus on craft and design. Today, The Dowse’s programming is diverse and exciting, presenting works by local and international artists to a range of audiences.

The New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts (Academy Galleries)
The gallery is a versatile space with three separate gallery spaces and an annexe off Gallery Two, so exhibitions of any size can be catered for.
Several of the walls are moveable to create a variety of layouts and interesting spaces.
There is also a small meeting area and members lounge which includes a small library of art books and magazines.

Te Papa
Te Papa is New Zealand’s official national museum.
The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is the national museum and art gallery of New Zealand, located in Wellington. It is branded and commonly known as Te Papa and Our Place; “Te Papa Tongarewa” is broadly translatable as “the place of treasures of this land”.
The museum’s principles incorporate the concepts of unified collections; the narratives of culture and place; the idea of forum; the bicultural partnership between Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti; and an emphasis on diversity and multidisciplinary collaboration.

30upstairs Art Project Space
30upstairs is a non-dealer gallery that exhibits and promotes both talented emerging artists and their more established contemporaries. As art collectors, artists and art consultants, their aim has been to create a non-profit exhibiting space that will help generate interest and excitement in the talented artists who create art.
The gallery is also providing an exhibition opportunity for artists in the lead-up to The Performance Arcade 2015. This includes a Performance Series exhibition for selected works in November 2014.

Toi Pōneke Hub
is a Wellington focal point for arts information, networking and discussion. The Hub is interactive – consisting of both physical and online space designed so anyone can access and contribute information on arts development and participation.
